The snow-covered dunes of Domburg contrast beautifully with the mighty clouds and the sea. It is now beautiful weather, spring-like temperatures, but still a few snowy landscapes from Zeeland. I made these paintings because snow always inspires me enormously. Perhaps it is because of the many old Dutch masters, such as Andreas Schelfhout, who, as a child, already touched me enormously with his winter landscapes. Maybe it has to do with longing o some melancholy, I don't know exactly.
The paintings are painted with quick brushstrokes.
